Holy fucking Christ it’s been a long week.
Monday I had a story due but couldn’t get it in because apparently Ohio State does not have soldiers who’ve been overseas and back. I can’t really explain that one. My editor (who is eerily connected to some guy I use to know) came down to my 4:30 class and gave us all a fire and brimstone speech about having our stories in on time. Tuesday I interviewed 8 PEOPLE, 5 in person. For one effin’ story that still didn’t get ran in the paper. I’m not going to lie the story was crap. I could have told it a lot better. Wednesday I had an exam in my PoliSci class that I probably failed horrible. Oh yeah, side note, I got a B in Comm 621, it’s a doozy only because Sharon West does not believe in giving good grades….ok, so maybe I just don’t like her a bit. No seriously, I was not expecting a B from her. Also Wednesday I wrote the story that didn’t get published. It only sucks because I only have so many clips that I’m willing to part with, avec pride. Thursday, which is today, but effin’ feels like Friday, I get an email from one of the army recruiters that I’m talking to for the above story that didn’t get ran, wants me to deliver him a copy of the story before I get it run in the paper…..ok, ethically I can’t do that. First no one gets editing rights save the editors, but I told him I’d see what I can do, but first I needed him to answer some questions for me ( I still needed another source for the story). I think after I get the answers from him I’ll tell him that I can’t let him get a copy before it goes to publish. I know that’s fucked up, don’t think badly of me. I’m just doing my job. So yeah, also today, I’ve emailed 23 people, read that back. 23 people about one effin’ story. Written my editor with story ideas…none of which he assigned me, gotten a complaint from someone I wrote a story about saying that I falsely represented them in the story (which I did not do), and I still haven’t heard back from campus police. The only story that seems slightly interesting because I get to spend the day on the beat with a campus cop. Oh yes, and I have a paper due for PoliSci next week and I haven’t been to that class in ohhhh, four weeks. Sorry, that last one can’t be blamed on anyone but myself. Oh yeah, and I finished the newest Harry Potter. Oh yeah, and our house has decided that running water is a sin and it shall back up into ever water giving orifice in order to teach us water consuming sinners. Also, I was trying to post this in diaryland, but forgetting how lame diaryland could be actually sat there for twenty minutes waiting to post this when I could have just came here and done it a LOT EFFIN’ SOONER!
