Pay for the direct flight

So, here I am in Bolivia. Not like I planned to be spending this much time here or anything. Funny little thing when the airline changes something on you, you think it's the time, but actually it's the date. And then, instead of being in Sao Paulo, Brazil, you end up in Santa Cruz, Bolivia. And your friend, waiting for you in Sao Paulo has already bought tickets for the both of you to go to Rio de Janeiro tomorrow, but the flight leaves at 615am and you won't be getting into Sao Paulo until 145pm. Funny little thing, life.

But I did meet a Korean on the flight from Mexico City to Santa Cruz (with a stop in Panama, but it was dark, I didn't get to see anything) And I sat across the aisle from some guy who I waited in line with at the check-in counter. So we talked culture the whole time. He's from Argentina, but he lives in Mexico and has another home in Bolivia. I told him girls don't kiss people on the cheek as a greeting in the US and he couldn't believe it. And I was just starting to get used to kissing girls on the cheek in Mexico. I expect it will come in handy in Brazil. But then back to Korea... hahaha, I can just imagine trying to kiss Korean girls on the cheek.... "What the hell are you doing?"

The tacos in Mexico were great. I apparently ate pigs' lips and ears. Which I suppose makes Mexicans a little more honest about what's in their food than, say, hot dogs.

I think maybe I didn't get enough sleep, my head is kinda light.

I think the little hose next to the toilet is a bidet (although that water was awfully cold). Which makes me wonder if perhaps I shouldn't have flushed that toilet paper. They didn't want me to flush the paper in the hostel in Mexico, I had to put it in a trash can. Old pipes in Mexico are, apparently, too small to accomodate that sort of thing.

Mexicans eat SO MUCH MEAT. I thought people in the US ate a lot of meat. Until I ate with Mexicans a few days in a row. Although, since, as I mentioned, they eat the lips and ears, maybe they eat less animals. After all, they're eating more of the animal.

Oh yeah, so, back to the subject line. I am paying for a direct flight to Brazil next time. Forget this fucking transfer crap. It's worth $300 to not have to wait in an airport, not have the airline constantly change your ticket.

And screw round trip tickets. I flew from Seattle to Nantucket, back to Seattle, then to Mexico, going to Brazil, then back through Mexico, to Seattle. Next time I'll fly from Seattle to Nantucket to Brazil (well, sort of) to Mexico to Seattle. That has to be cheaper. And more time efficient.
