chicago designated rehearsal logThe rehearsals have tended to go well, if not for a few hiccups and delays by curse left and right (really, he should have taken that into account) and Lorne's been very happy with his turn out so far. There have been issues, sure. But the old saying holds true, and Lorne has faith in his little actors

Now that the show date was approaching she knew there'd be dress rehearsals at any time, and she had a rather specific reason to want to talk to Lorne about that. At the circus she always did her own hair and make-up and she was only a dancer in the show so she was hoping it would be the same but she thought it was better to ask him if that was okay. She really wouldn't feel comfortable with other people getting a look at the ruined side of her face.

It was nice to see Doll getting into something fun, too. Penny worried about her. The City's habit of pulling people in and then making them disappear as quickly as they had arrived seemed to be taking a toll on her, and Penny considered any distraction from that inevitable fact a good thing.
She waved her friend down during a break in the action. "Freckles! Hey!"

With the circus back home they'd be busy from when they woke up to when they went back to sleep, so while having some free time was nice it wasn't what she was used to at all. And the practice she was getting for the show could only help her performance in the circus, so that was another really good thing about it.
She turned quickly when she heard Penny's familiar voice, a cheerful smile already spreading across her face. "'ey Penny! You doin' alright? The whole thing's goin' really well, ain't it?"

"How's the dancing?"

Doll's smile grew wider at the question, because she was feeling rather proud of herself for doing something outside of her usual tightrope walking. "'s fun! Ain't like anythin' 've ever done before but 'm enjoyin' it a lot."

Penny patted Freckles' shoulder. "At least we're not too lonely, right? Think about how it'd be if the City was tiny... sure, less people would be missing their homes, but we have good company."

"Nah, wouldn't say that nothin' can beat 'ome. Just that nothin' can beat friends or family, right?" She gives Penny a wink, then adds, "See ya later? Need t'get back to the other dancers."

Ah, Doll hit on the truth. "You're completely right." She smiled at the wink and replied, "I'm sure you will. Break a leg!"

Doll would find him backstage, hovering around a few members of his stage crew to make sure that the lighting system was going to be a problem. He spotted her hovering in that way that people tend to do, nodded once and finished up his current conversation. He smiled wide as he approached, clipboard and pen in hand. "Doll, you doll! Everything okay, peaches?"

"Hey Lorne," she smiled back at him, a bit reassured already. "Yeah, everythin' is fine. Just needed to ask ya about somethin'." Taking a deep breath she continued, "Was wonderin' if it'd be alright for me t'take care of my own 'air an' make-up...know we'll be busy switchin' from one scene to the other an' that maybe someone else was going to take care of that for everythin' t'go faster but 'm used to it from the circus too an' 'm sure I'd manage it. I'd just...really appreciate it if it was alright with you?" She didn't bring up her reason why just yet, hoping she wouldn't have to talk about it.
