[Lorne and portals don't equal fun times. They equal very not fun times.]

...Oh, God. No, not another portal.

Why
me?

[Into the phone.]

H-hey! Look, when I said get away, I didn't exactly mean to a crazy twisted funhouse, okay? I was thinking more, y'know, tropical! With a lack of creepy, preferably...

confused lorne is confused, great beat but what is that ticking?, this is not the emerald city

Twisted funhouse is not as far off the mark as you might think.

Fabulous. Should I even bother asking where the exits are?

Only if you enjoy being vastly disappointed in the answer.

No. No, not so much. More thinking I'd give anything for a lot of something fruity and alcoholic.

You might want to dispense with the fruit and go straight for the alcoholic when you sit down to read the City guide.

Has anyone sent you that yet?

Ohh, I like you. Guy with the great ideas!

They haven't, but I bet you'll be a doll and help a guy out.

Someone who recognizes my genius.

Sure thing, it's downloading to your PDA, just waiting for you to accept it.

[ooc: I fail in my actual guide-finding-fu but assume Lorne just got a tastey guide to the insanity that is the City?]

Hey, credit should be given where it's due.

Well isn't that just nifty and convenient?

[Assumption and hand-waving is a go! ^^]

Thank you, Sir.

I've only been here a few weeks myself. Have to say that I spent much of the first week trying to convince myself I'd taken my boss's medications by mistake and fallen down a rabbit hole.

Do you need anything?

Can't blame you. I'd pick the rabbit hole any day. Portals, in my experience? Not sunshine and lollipops. Well, not after that initial one.

This guide seems to be doing it, unless it won't tell me where the nearest bar is?

Unfortunately my experience had never included portals, vampires or any of the other people and creatures I've met since falling in here.

There should be a couple within walking distance. You might want to stay Overground, until you get your footing. The Underground is a bit of a rough crowd from what I've heard.

That's too bad, now that you've been inducted. It's one of those things that don't allow you to go back to normal once you've been through it.

Underground...so, this place has levels then. In the smelly sewer filled with urban legendary alligators way?

Well, I've read that most people don't remember being here once they return home. If they do, it's kind of like a dream but it might be different for different folks.

I think there are levels but as I understand it, it's mainly where some of the City's more dangerous denizens amuse themselves.

Oh. That's- well, I guess there's more than a catch.

The seedy side of town, got it. With all this help, I feel like should know who to thank. I'm Lorne.

Oh! I am sorry, this place is playing merry devil with my manners.

I'm Thom, Thom Reston. It's a pleasure to meet you, Lorne.

Oh, don't sweat it, that's what being bounced around another dimension does to a man.

Thom Reston, huh? Very
'Gone With The Wind', if I may say!
