hey you... (early morning ramble)

So I just found out Syd Barrett from Pink Floyd died like a week ago, and although I was never a huge fan I still enjoyed them and it's weird to think that a band that influencial had humble beginnigs and they never would have thought they'd last generations now members are dying off and I wonder if they look back at those years when music was so young and raw and what do they think of music as it is now and are they satisfied with the legacy they left. And what's left to do but admire in awe the things they did and the breakthroughs accomplished and talk talk talk about what made them so special and try in vain to get to that level of notoriety, but it's useless 'cause it's all been done and the best we can hope for is to not accept what's being shoved in our audio periphery or accept how great and influencial something (a band a book a movie a concept a product) is and think to see why it's so wonderful and why you feel such a connection to them and most importantly see what THEIR influences are.

(and it's 2:30 in the morning and I have work in 6 hours and I finally got to bed before midnight but I woke up and can't call back asleep cause I'm haunted by thoughts I really should tend to but I just don't know how to go about sorting through it all.

and I can't help but think about the people I know and what beautiful music they make, and how I try in vain to get to that level but what's left to do but admire in awe the things they do and what they're capable of.)
