Skinsss. JJ.

So finally I was able to watch Skins! Couldn't do it yesterday because I had an insane amount of homework and then I went to my first Academic Team meet, which was stressful as hell but got better. All of this to tell you that finally, finally I got the chance to see it.

So I'd heard enough about this episode to know that I'd end up being all wtf by the end.

Which I was. WTF, Skins? WTF?

Yes, you know the scene I'm talking about. It wasn't just that it wasn't just weird (which it definitely was), it just wasn't cohesive. How does it make any sense that Em is randomly deciding to have pity sex with JJ? In what world does that make any sort of sense? There wasn't even any build-up or anything. Also: what is the status with her and Naomi? They didn't have one scene together, although I did like the fact that it's getting harder for Naomi to deny she may not be as straight as she'd like to think.

LOVE the fact that Naomi and Effy hardcore ship people with each other. I just think it's hilarious.

This is why having episodes with a single character focus can be so awkward. I respect the fact that it was JJ's episode and we can't know everything about other people, but do we just ignore story lines? It's kind of like what happened when Emily and Naomi were doing that weird quiz thing and the next episode it was as if Naomi had been avoiding her for all that time. The flow just gets chopped up. Because suddenly Pandora's with Cook and we don't even know how that happened or why? I mean, obv they were together before and everything, buuut. I'd just like a little more cohesiveness and build up.

Besides the weirdness with the whole sex scene, I really did enjoy this episode. JJ's one of my favorite characters, which might have something to do with it, and I thought he was really fun to learn about. Aw, he's so cute. I was really proud of him for demanding all those things -- and I think he's right, it is too soon to tell. I'm holding out hope that things will work out for him. JJ: SOMETIMES YOUR FRIENDS ARE LAME. That is why I love Em & JJ as friends. Definitely not romantically, but awww! They're adorable as friends! ♥ I loved the end with the mom and Ems and JJ sitting at the table because I could just see them supporting each other and being all awesome and everything.

Also: JJ loves Effy? Since when? Ha, I actually kind of liked her reaction. "Everyone loves me." It was just so...unaffected. "Thanks for loving me." / "No problem."

Which brings me to the fact that I think Ems and JJ and Effy should be all friends. I'unno, I can see Effy helping Ems with the honesty thing more than the ~stun~ drug thing. And Emily supporting Effy. Don't get my wrong, I love Effy and Panda as besties, but for some reason I'd just love to see a scene with just Effy and Emily and JJ and see their dynamic. Or even just Emily and Effy.

JJ: DON'T GIVE UP MAGIC. ): THAT WOULD BE SAD. I WILL CRY.

LOL @ Katie & Freddie being totally out of nowhere. I'd like more backstory on how exactly that happened. It was funny how they were introduced to it, though. Katie being all mean and, ha, "locked on" about Em being gay makes me think that Em having sex with JJ wasn't just for him, though. I don't know, I sort of think she's more desperate for Katie's approval than she's willing to admit and she wanted to know if being straight was an option? LOL, EMS, NO. YOU'RE SO GAY. Maybe that's just me trying to bring it all together and give it some, you know, ~sense~, but anyway.

Overall, I thought the episode was actually pretty good. Emily needs to take her own advice now and stand up for what she thinks and how she feels. Kind of ironic, her telling him to do all those things when she's the one who's always in her sister's shadow.
