Okay, first things first: I haven't posted in a while because if I do post on a blog, it'll be on Blogger.com. The blogs called "Worthless Knowledge" and it's ran by my friend Cece and I. Mostly the blog consist of things about Fanfics and pointless stuff. hints the name.
seond thing: I hate Chuck Bass now. and Gossip Girl. What a waste of a season. I feel kind of ashamed to have Chuck on my LiveJournal now, but what can I do ya know? I want a DE one now...who knows when that will happen though? considering it's taken me 2 years to get the current layout that I have now?
anyways, lets move on from the epic failness of Chuck and GG and talk about what this blog really is about.
The reason why I'm writing this here is because Cece doesn't read the Percy Jackson series. So...this blog post has nothing to do with US. and everything to do with what I think about the book that only I read. ya know?
Okay so, let me get started by saying, I love the books. I love Percy and I love Annabeth and I love Grover. I love the world that Rick Riordan created using Greek Myths. BIG FAN. [ahahah It's been a while since I read a book by a man. he should be impressed! and honored! moving on....]
So with that being said, I was a little shocked to find that the movie BASED on the books....was so....different.
Like, I want to name the stuff wrong with the movie, and what I think about the changes. okay?
----
- Percy Jackson is 12 in the books. 16ish in the movie
Thoughts: I'm actually fine with this change. um Percy never acted like a 12 year old to me, so changing this wasn't a big deal. plus, Percy in the movie is a little cutey. :) so this is okay. I can kind of understand why they would change this, more so then the other things. and believe me, there are other thingsss.
- Annabeth is a Blonde, SMART girl in the books. Annabeth is a battle freak
with brown hair in the movie.
Thoughts: WTF is the point of this? O_O I don't understand it. you know I'm pretty easy to please with some things when concerning hair color and such, and changing the personality in some cases for entertainment. {Elena Gilbert is the example of this} but never in a movie. in the movie, they should keep what was written in a book, and change very little. if anything. that includes hair color and personality. {TV is different, it's low budget and sometimes it works out for the best. never it a movie does it work out for the best.}
- The Pearls in the Book was given to Percy as a gift from his Dad, Poseidon. In the movie, He had to find the 3 pearls at different locations.
Thoughts: really? Percy looking for these things, made up HALF the movie! if Poseidon gave them to Percy the way that it was suppose to be, the movie could of been filled with more things from the books.
- Gods/Goddess in the movie are not ALLOWED to see their children, but in the books it's different.
they don't have anything to do with their children because Their Gods. Gods had nothing to do with their child in the myths.
Thoughts: Honesty. you can't change myths okay? even for movies.
- Percy Jackson is a trouble maker in the books. In the movie, He's at Yancy because It'll help his ADHD and Dyslexia.
Thoughts: I don't understand it. I like the Dyslexia effects of the movie, but having him not a trouble maker is kind of sad. :( it's in his character to get in trouble. so...idk.
- Grover wants to have premission to go look for Pan in the books. In the movie, he wants to earn his horns.
Thoughts: Hellloooo!!! How are they suppose to make the second movie, if Grover's still at Camp? It wouldn't make sense. WTF?
- Clarisse was in the books and the battle freak. in the movie, she doesn't exist.
Thoughts: Okay, it would make more sense to have Clarisse be the one to attack Percy in the flag game, instead of Annabeth. seeing as how her Dad's the God of Warfare. Athena is the Goddess of strategy yes, and yes, She's also the goddess of war too, but..you can't make that a reason for the movie's changes.
*rolleyes* CAN'T CHANGE MYTHS HOLLYWOOD! Athena's children are smart, not fighters.
- Athena's Gift to Annabeth. The Cap. in the books. not in the movies.
Thoughts: seeing as how they have that damn law, gifts are a no go right? eff'd up.
-In The books they call upon Iris, Goddess of the Rainbow to contact someone, like a phone call. in the movie they used the computer.
Thoughts: BAHAHAHAHA it made it really cheesy, and not mythological.
moving on. *snorts*
-Are's make a apparence in the book. In the Movie. they don't even mention him.
Thoughts: W.T.F.
Are's a GOD! you can't not have him in the movie seeing as how He's the one to put the bolt in Percy's bookbag. *sighs*
- The Tree Of Thalia was a big thing in the books. in the movie. she wasn't even effin' mentioned.
Thoughts: again. how are they to write a second movie, if she's not even in the first?
- Persephone was not in the first book. she is a huge part in the movie.
Thoughts: I didn't understand the pearl crap. so why should I be okay with The Underwold Goddess being in the movie?? I'd be okay if they showed her, and mentioned her being trapped in the underworld, but why did Posiedon's Gift have to be changed to hers? O_O really?
- Sally Jackson had to stay in the underwold in the books. Grover choose to stay in the underworld in the movie.
Thoughts: there's no reason for it. I think it was just to add humor to the movie, being that Persephone flirted with Grover, but really that just distrubbed me.
LOL
- Annabeth & Percy were FRIENDS in the books till much later. In the Movie, Annabeth admitted to having feelings for Percy RIGHT AWAY.
Thoughts: No. Just....No. LOL where's the build up? where's the banter?
I get that she says "I haven't figured out if their postive or negative yet." about her feelings and stuff,
But what does that mean? why flirt? why not know each other before you get into that like the books? *sighs*
- The God of Wine was in charge of the campers. Chiron was in charge of the activities. that's different in the movie.
Thoughts: :( I really wanted to see what they would of made Mr. D look like! Mr. D. wasn't even in the movie. nor mentioned. :(
-In the Books, they don't know who Percy's father is. until Posiedon claims him. in the movie, they already know.
Thoughts: I guess they were pressing for time in the movie? but couldn't they make people realize it when Percy healed himself in the water? O_o if their gonna have that, why not make Posiedon caim him then? It would of taken 2 seconds.
- The Main 3 promised not to bare any more children after worldwar 2. in the books, in the movie, there is no such law.
Thoughts: should of made it like th books because what about the Prophecy?
One child from the main 3 will be either a weapon or a asset to the Gods.
apparently according to the movie, ANY ONE could be the one. ugh. there is not fore-told future. either!
- In The Books, the kids get a mission to go to the underworld to get the Lighten Bolt. thinking Hades' has it. In the Movie, The kids run away to the underworld to clear Percy's Name and get his mom back.
Thoughts: What's the point of making a movie based on a book if your not gonna follow certian things that are rather important? really? :(
- They explained in the books, why Olyumpus was on the Empire State Building, or why The Underword was in LA {NOT HOLLYWOOD.} In the Movie, they didn't.
Thoughts: It would of taken no time at all if they explained this. instead the whole ordeal make the movie seem cheesy and unrealistic.
-Luke & Percy fought in the city in the movie, in the books they fought in the camp..sort of.
Thoughts: Though I enjoyed this scene, I found it funny that Mortals didn't see this. I mean the whole water scene was very...um..noticable.
-In The Books Percy was dry in water instantly. and can breathe underwater.... seeing as how he's a Demigod. in the Movie, he's wet AND he can't breath in the water. [ holding your breath for 7 minutes, doesn't count]
Thoughts: He just seemed like a human boy who loved the water. Percy never said if he liked water or not till he found out he was the son of Posiedon.
- The Gods/Goddess use Mist to make everything look normal to people. in the movie..there's no such thing.
Thoughts: I Guess they were pressing for time. I'll look past this.

I think So, I think I've named enough stuff where one has to wonder...What does Rick Riordan think? How the HECK did these people get the right to name this movie Percy Jackson?
They changed everything. and everything i named, is not the only thing they changed either!
Okay, so in with all that aside....You make thinks I hate the movie. I don't HATE it. I don't LOVE it either.
It was okay. that's pretty much it. and that's putting the books out of the picture. if I didn't read the books, I might of enjoyed the movie more. but the fact of the matter is, I don't see how they could make a second movie, that's supposely coming out in 2012. HA. funny. seeing as how the second books about saving Thaila and the Golden Fleece.
UGH. anways. I'll still watch the movie, because I enjoyed some parts but..ya know. I'll still probably be critical.
Okay this blog is sooo long. I'm so sorry!
see ya!
Tiff.
BTW I just looked up info of the movie. they calmed Percy [Movie Percy] is a 12 year old.
That's a joke, considering he looks OLDER! AND IS SEEN DRIVING!
WHATEVER.
;)
