I must update again. So I just got back from the DMV with Alexandra (we were supposed to renew our licenses). We're both under 18, so we had to have VOE forms (verification of enrollment) to prove we’re in school. She got hers from the high school, but since I’m at a community college, it just had to be ridiculously difficult to do. Earlier today I got some VOE-type form from the admissions & records office, proving I was a student. The woman at the admissions counter sounded completely sure that it would work as my VOE. Guess what IT DIDN’T. At the DMV, the lady said I needed something that proved at least 90% attendance. ? They don’t even keep official attendance records in college! I told her that, but then she just said that I needed my official transcript. Sealed and stamped and everything. That’s dumb. Now I have to wait for another week to get it renewed again.
That’s not all. When it was Alexandra’s turn, we found out that she didn’t even have a real license. That’s right. According the computers, she doesn’t have a license and therefore it can’t be renewed. So now she has to go home and find all the paperwork showing that she completed the homestudy driver’s ed course, and take it back the DMV again to get her license for real. This probably means that she’ll have to go for six months with only one passenger in the car at a time (TX law).
Anyway, we failed. Guess we’ll have to go back next week or something. Joy. The DMV is the devil. Ah, now back to writing about temporal and spatial seed dispersal in the genus Cistus. Sweet.
love, mckay.
P.S. CHRISTMAS COLORS!
