A Few Things Real Quick
So Alexis (who is in London) called me yesterday at like 3:20 CST to let me know she is ok. They were leaving England for France before it happened. Great news i'd say!
I almost didn't answer my phone when it rang because i didn't recognize the phone number. And it was a local number so i was a little thrown. Good thing i did answer it!
This little podcasting thing i'm doing seems to be taking off and i couldn't be happier. I hope we can rattle or even create an entire alternative to the RIAA FUD so artists cab start getting the recognition they work so hard for and deserve WITHOUT having to sacrifice their creativity. In other words they can play and write what they want and build their audience by what they choose to play. Not what some suit tells them to play. Viva la revolution!! =)
Another HOWTO is on the way with more after that. Man i'm cranking these things out aren't i? Well its because i have the invaluable help (seriously, nobody can afford this guy. But its worth a shot) Ben Taylor. He keeps me from boring you to death about some things and to focus on keeping the article to the task at hand. And he covers the Mac side of things!! =) He's the best as you will soon see when his new site comes online.
Next up, ,a href="http://www.google.com" title="Google">Google is doing a thing with other companies to promote open source development. Instead of letting all of us brilliant programming college students just sit around this summer, letting or brains rot, Google decided to partner with companies that write open-source programs or projects (LiveJournal is one such company) and get college students interested in open-source software development.
By offering the college students US$4500. Thats right. So obviously almost 9000 college students applied and only 410 were accepted.
419 of them you do not know. But you do me.
Thats right! I got accepted.And guess who i'm working with? Guess.....

Ok, its ,a href="http://www.livejournal.com" title="LiveJournal">LiveJournal! I can't wait to get started!! i've got to finish up some paperwork, but with Dennis coming that is going to throw so things around. But nonetheless i am stocked!!
