saturday night dinner
about every year at winter time, since 1st year of college, i planned a little get together of people to hang out and have fun. first it was at Olive Garden, the next year it was Malibu Grill Steak House, but i didn't do one last year and i dont know why. i dont know what happened, it just didnt happen. so i did it again this year, but it was a much larger group and it was great.
first to arrive was me and pat then we waited for the table. in comes emily rattray, then kristin prieur, ...then the table's are ready. im thinking: this is bad because theres only 4 people here and i had asked for a table of 15, then chris malone showed up and surprised me bringing the group to 5. and i start to fret for some reason...maybe its because this was a whole lot more stressful than last year due to the fact that it didnt happen so i get nervous and more nervous, but what can i do?
we went to the tables and sat down then i was wondering where everyone was, so i started calling from outside the restaurant (after kristin offered to help, but i wanted her to sit down and enjoy the dinner..or what was starting of it). i get in touch with mike dreyfuss and he tells me that he is on the way along with jono and catie.
while on the phone with maureen and lindsay walk up bringing us to 7. then in comes catie and jono, then jenn zollman behind them...that bringing us to 10.
i get in touch with kitkat and she says she is also on the way. a little while later she shows and so does matt, that brings us to 12. and thats everyone at the dinner.
unfortunately not everyone had a drink...infact chris was the only one who did. in any case it was GREAT seeing everyone and catching up with them. it was also a great meal, but i enjoyed the company much more than the food. having everyone together laughing and eating and getting to know eachother was just an awesome thing and made my night.
but! what made my night even more was that i got my nintendo DS from chris, booyah!
AND! what made my night even more was doing that same thing at dinner over at caties with the white elephant. oooo, so much fun over there. i finally got to see angie and brian. not to mention elly, whom i was quite glad could make it. such highlightes were the white elephant, two boards of twister with 8 players, and trival pursuit with first team: team short (ang, cyndie, me) then the group reformed to team two asian guys and white girl. leigh shooting sara beth...with a nerf dart gun while wearing a mustache. more details to come later.
all in all its been a great night, fun too.
