soooo..all those out there who have knowledge of the computer hardware, i have a stupid question:
i had an old comp that overheated, which means everything's gone except for the Hard Drives...they were set up through IDE cables.
the current computers in the house run through SATA...is it possible to switch the old HDs up to the new SATA cables and keep the data on it?
--i feel the answer is no, and i feel quite dumb asking but i wanted to ask just in case. if i remember correctly, it had something to do with the jumpers in the back of the HD, but again not sure.
in the event that the answer is no, does anyone have any suggestions as to how to save that data without hooking it up through SATA or an old comp. that had IDE cables ...which is gonna be hard to find.
any and all answers and suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
