weekend at tech
kind of a last minute trip to tech happened, and it was very fun aside from the constant fatigue i had almost the entire trip.
started on friday after work; i hit traffic on 66W ..duh, that was bound to happen anytime after 2pm, but as a surprise i also hit the rain as it started and it stayed with me the entire drive kind of making it scary for me. the last car accident i had was in the drizzly rain and wet road goin like 25 max and skidding...this time i was going atleast 70 and definitely hitting the brakes with sketchy quality tires and brakes.
i did it make it though, and the night involved me catching up with pat a bit, playing darts, drinking, driving to get food and drinks, and witnessing the after effect of somebody driving a truck then skidding out in a neighborhood and hitting 5 parked (in parking spaces) in a row. Luckily the driver of the truck was ok and there was nobody in the cars at all, so no injuries. it was pretty scary but i imagined the driver was in much more fear and anxiety than anyone else there. everything he did afterwards was on the dot correct so i doubt he was drunk, probably driving too fast down hill and braking while turning on a wet road.
the main part of the weekend was the game on saturday; we went to the parking lot to tail gate for like 4 hours and then the game: VTech VS Ohio. the cheering was fun; its crazy how excited people get at these things. The game was kind of slow and disappointing at first, but after the half time break the game became alive with excitement, great plays, and touchdowns. ..also there was a couple of fights (on the field). Tech won 28-7 (i think).
it was a very memorable and fun experience though, it was my 2nd football game i had been to ever and i had a good time. there was the usual wave, then the "oooooo-ing" when VT was on defense, "key play" where the crowd gets out their keys and jingles them, and..a few more that i dont remember right now.
after the game we went to a dorm building to get a pit stop, then something happened that usually happens when i go to tech: randomly running into Jono. first time i believe was at breakfast in West End, then at Hokie House, and the rest were on campus, just like this time. problem was i tired on top of going to the game so i wasnt very talkative (my bad Jono). after that we all went to Leeann's apt to ...sleep and watch tv. then we had some food, and watched more tv. then, back at pat's apt we slept again and i left in the morning.
this was a fun weekend, i got away from home and work (yes, so soon) and got to relax for a bit...i just wish i wasnt so tired, woulda been able to enjoy it more. i did like pat's roomate's dog: mick. cute dog, friendly as hell, fluffy white, and funny also.
