Things I have learned lately:
Getting your stomach tattooed (more, again) is like an anatomy lesson: why does that part hurt more than this part? Tattooing the sternum, ribs, and diaphragm didn't hurt as bad as I expected, but the kidneys are worse than I remember. I sit like a champ, but man, that was about the limit of my tolerance.
Leaving New York is not as impossible as anticipated. The solution is having a ticket back.
I love snow! When it's falling or freshly fallen. It brought back all these great childhood memories of living here.
But the memories I was conveniently forgetting are the ones where the snow turns to slush, gets packed down into ice, and walking around New York comes in two sensations: oh shit, I am sliding; and oh shit, I just stepped in that not-so-solidly-frozen puddle and now my feet are cold and wet.
But I still like the snow. And it's way better than rain.
I fly to California in a few hours. This is only possible because
hifihillary is an awesome friend and helped me move (yes, again. That's four apartments since October.) so that I am almost ready to go.
See you sunshiny people soon!
