I was watching bad 80s videos at the gym the other day when this came on:

Anyhow, watching this video, it occurred to me that these guys look like they could be walking around Williamsburg TODAY. In fact, I am pretty sure I have seen their modern-day doppelgangers recently. All of them.
Badly grown-out hair
Terrible oversized glasses
Beard or mustache
Sweat bands
Bandana/ascot-thing
So, while we all acknowledge that the Brooklynite hipsters (and subsequently the Mission hipsters and the Silverlake hipsters) are derivative of the worst parts of the 80s, I didn't realize until that moment that they were directly ripping off Toto. Fucking TOTO!
(Also, now that I have Toto on the Youtubes, I am reminded that "Rosana" is the first music video I have clear memories of. My poor brain.)
