If I were to make a jelly bean that tastes how I imagine fluorescent light should taste in candy form, it would probably taste like the sour blueberry Jelly Belly. as strange as that sounds, you need to go to your local candy shop/supermarket, find sour blueberry Jelly Bellys, or the sours assortment pack, and eat the light blue ones. while in the store, stare at the fluorescent lights above you. imagine them in sour candy form. eat one.
wierd isnt it? I'm not saying it's the best flavor (lemon) but it tastes flourescent.
Go see Serenity. F@cking insane. awesome visuals, great score, compelling storyline, very little dead time, things go boom. Yeah. Some of the people who I heard hyping it made me wonder, but I can safely say its a killer flick. So far, best movie I've seen (and I really liked Batman Begins). Harry potter and teh Chronicles of Narnia will probably beat it, but look at the differences in advertising budgets.
In other news, got an update from my friend Scott (who is in the band temporarily named Machine Gun Etiquette our of Reno, until they found out it's already a band's name). The band (don't know the new name) is getting together on the 22 at a local recording studio to do a "full live" recording set. The guy there wants to promote his recording studio, and he liked working with Scott and his crew. Now, I'm not a part of this band, haven't gone to any of their shows (yet), and really don't hang out with them outside of work.
I've been invited to be a part of it.
This should be a shock to me, and it kinda is, but not really. Don't get me wrong, I'm excited as all hell to be a part of something like this. However, that news was a bit dwarfed at the time as it came on the heels of him telling me he was (finally) going to be getting me the raw tracks from the last recording session they did so I can produce it for them. Yeah, if you've been reading my lj at all, I'm fully intent on being a music producer (other than my own stuff). Starting with Scott's band.
My contacts list is slowly growing, I'm making some beats for a guy at work, Ricky, to rap over. Let me tell you, hip-hop is not as easy as I thought to make a catchy beat. After doing much research, I've come to the conclusion that you have to have a good ear for music. Thankfully, mine is getting better every day. unfortunately, it's not tuned for rap and hip-hop yet. but it will be.
