Prince Edward was going out. Did he not deserve a glass or two of fine wine?! Of course he did! Ahhhhh, but it had felt wonderfully lovely to defeat the undead and he was going to celebrate!

If he could just find his other boot. And try not to pout while doing it. And if his roommate were ever around, he could possibly help him search for it.

"Looking for something?" Adora asked, popping her head in the doorway, a smile impossible to keep away. She'd missed Edward while she was busy playing She-Ra versus the zombies all weekend, and she was repressing whatever that had been with Hannibal earlier.

He spun around, towards the doorway. "Oh! Adora! I am indeed. I am afraid I've lost my boot. A dreadful shame as I was going out. Ahhhh, but you look lovely! You are well?"

"I am very well, and you're looking rather dashing this evening," she told him. "Though, I am sorry to hear about your boot. Where were you going?"

"Ah, thank you," he preened. "I was going to celebrate! Should you like to come with me? If I can find my boot that is..."

"Celebrating? I can think of nothing I'd like better," she grinned. "Do you not have another pair of boots to wear?"

"Excellent!" he beamed. "I do have a normal pair of manly shoes," he admitted. "But are my boots not more... princely?"

"They are quite princely," Adora agreed. "But I would not think less of you for wearing shoes. Though I do wonder where your boots could have gone."

"It's just the one," he said, looking down as he extended one leg showing off his bare foot. His other leg was sporting his princely boot with his jeans tucked in nicely. Or so he thought. "I daresay I shall be deeply upset with the individual who is sporting only one boot. I will be hard pressed not to run him through." Sigh. "Boot stealing is punishable by law!"

Perhaps only in Andalasia, but speaking to the proper authorities here might ensure boot stealing to be punishable by law.

Adora thought about that. "Perhaps a one-legged zombie took it. Or it's somewhere here and you've just yet to find it!"

"Ahh, those udead! Cannot trust the filthy lot! At least they are gone." He grinned at her. "The reason behind my celebration, my lovely Adora! You are right, however. I shall wear my other shoes and worry about my lost boot another time."

He stepped towards her and reached out to take her hand in his. "Forgive me for leaving you alone this weekend."

"I heard reports that you were very brave in the battle," she replied, placing her hand in his.

He blushed but managed to look entirely confident. "I could not allow those creatures to live and rule and eat... people. Terribly disgusting." Bending slightly, he brought her hand to his lips where he placed a gentle kiss upon the back. "And were you not just as brave?"

She bit her lip in awe of his attentions. "I like to think I was." Even if some people might disagree. "But maybe not."

Straightening, his eyes met hers and he stepped in just a little closer, moving to hold her hand against his chest. "Why do you think maybe not?"

It felt so wrong to lie to him. But knowing her secret made him vulnerable, she had to remember that, even if the same evils didn't exist in Fandom.

"I don't know, just something someone said today."
