Kt got a job!!!!!
I got a job today. I will be working for AmeriCorps Partnering with the Macomb County Juvenile court System and the Michigan State University Extension Mentoring Program to provide Mentors to children that are recomended from the court.
It doesn't exactly make great money but i get a living wage stipend of 200 bucks and they pay 40 cents to the mile i drive. Then if i complete 1700 hours of work in one calendar year i get a $5,000 scholarship for school. so i am so very geeked about this job. Not to mention the experience i will get and the resume building it will do.
I'm just so very excited !!!!!
oh yeah and the one other member i will be working closely with is this 18 year old guy who i thought was nerdy but the first thing we talked about was how he goes and plays bingo on friday nights. I love bingo....so i think we should get along well....although the first time i will really be around him is at a seminar that we have to go to in cadillac for three days. Nothing says getting to know someone like a 4 hours car ride.
