I love horror movies, as you can probably tell. To be honest, though, it’s been ages since I’ve seen a good one. I don’t go for modern things like Saw, and the last decent horror movie I saw was probably The Descent. I also liked The Blair Witch Project more than most people, but I’ve only seen it once, and I’m not sure how it holds up to repeated ( Read more... )

Nice list. I definitely agree with you on An American Werewolf. One of the best, if not the best, werewolf movies ever made.

"An American werewolf in London" is my favourite, although not the scariest for me. And I remember "The Thing" being one of the first horror films I saw... great list.

UK had a 100 Greatest Scary movies countdown and "The Shining" edged out "The Exorcist" on the poll. I think atmospheric-wise, you can't top "The Exorcist".

Although in recent years, the only film that scared me (for about a week) is the original Japanese "Ring".

The Shining is good too. It made my shortlist, certainly. Believe it or not, I haven't seen The Ring - the bride refuses to see it, so I haven't had the opportunity. I want to, though.
