Hello WPers!
I need some advice on our favors.
Here is our favor card:

I've already ordered and received 250 of these favor cards from Vistaprint.
My original idea was to have a whole bunch of the red tomatoes with the green steams still attached and I would attached these cards to the stems. I like it because it is a really cute story. I read that the best favors are edible ones, and so people could take these home and eat them. I also like them because tomatoes are red and red and orange are our wedding colors.
I also thought I would have some little cellohane bags available in case people wanted to bag their tomato so that it wouldn't squish or anything like that.
FH thought the original ideal was cool but now he thinks that taking the time to assemble the bags and the tags on these tomatoes is going to take too much time. If we were doing a favor that wasn't perishable we could do it way ahead of time (wedding is October 17th, 2009), but since it's tomatoes the earliest that we could put this together would be 5 days before the wedding and that's still kind of pushing it. We don't want people to have over-ripe squishy tomatoes to take home with them. We also were trying to keep as few projects for the week of the wedding as possible.
SO, I thought about giving out packets of tomato seeds instead of real tomatoes. The benefit is that we could assemble them ahead of time. Price wise, it wouldn't be that different from having the real tomatoes.
The downside to using tomato seeds is that they are more likely to make it to the trash and to go unused. And as all of you know, we brides are all trying to find a favor that is going to be something that people will use!
