Well, that depends on how one defines success. If one is talking about money and power, such as in corporate America, then one becomes successful by either inheriting it or by sheer luck. Either of those, combined with the ability and willingness to be ruthless and greedy, is a great recipe for success. If, however, one is talking about the greater successes in life, such as haivng friends, being good at a job, being a good parent, etc, then that recipe calls for hard work, sacrifices, family, and friends. In my opinion, being just being grouped with the latter IS the very definition of success.
