So today was a normal work day. I work in the health field, ophthalmology to be exact. It's eyes all day every day. Part of the normal eye work-up is to check the pressure in the eyes mainly to make sure the pressure is okay and there is no sign of glaucoma. My job entails going in to see each patient with the doctor so I can input all of his findings into the electronic medical records. So we go into see the next patient who happens to be a radiologist. He was reading a journal of radiology which he put down when the doctor walked in. My boss asked him how he was doing and he said he was fine but that the technician had noticed that his pressure was up 4 points in his right breast and down one point in his left breast to which my boss really didn't know what to say. I thought it was hilarious. I can only assume he was reading about mammograms before we entered the room or that our technicians really go that extra mile with each patient! Actually, I don't know what I found more amusing, the fact that the radiologist said that or the fact that when I told my family at dinner, my husband and my youngest son (18) had an entire conversation about how one would go about checking the pressure in a breast - would it be the poke method, the cupping method, or... well you get the picture. Some days are just too funny!
