For New LJ Friends ( I can't believe I'm posting this 12 years too late??)

I just realized, or maybe it just sort of kicked in, after twelve years of being here on LJ, I should have stickied an introductory post for new friends. Or if anything changes obviously for old friends. Over the years I've watched this place go from hopping to sometimes barely alive, but it still lives, and while many have ditched this place for ( Read more... )

That's what scared me, how that whole 'nanoweb' thing can actually happen because we DO have nanotechnology like that of sorts now. ODD THOMAS!! YES!! I've got all his stuff too. He was a regular guy hero.

One Door Away From Heaven...I have to reread that because briefly I don't remember what it is but I know there's a dog in there, as there usually is. Dean isn't keen on cats except for the gentleman in the Odd Thomas books with the big cat. The names sound familiar. I remember these two characters named Violet and Verbena who were the beautiful twins with their cats they commanded with their minds in an older Koontz book. They had an evil brother who was the main bad character in there.

I actually like this really weird one ( the book is on my shelf but I don't remember the title off hand) about that evil fungus that took over the world. Koontz is also one of the few horror authors that includes people of color. The book TICK TOCK had a Vietnamese protagonist in there. And one of the books had a surfer who was Japanese/Hawaiian.

Dr. Sleep is out now but I am waiting for it to show up on Youtube :P. I would prefer to see it with Walter.

THE STAND!!! Did you read the extended version? Or see the tv miniseries?? Another fave.

Okay was the Institute good? I did not like The Outsider, the latest book from him I read. I was disappointed. The Dark Tower's ending made me mad but I realize why it ended that way. My fave book in that series was definitely WIZARDS AND GLASS.

No, I read a book of short stories that some were written by Owen King...Bazaar of Bad Dreams. But it had good stuff in there. And I loved Mr.Mercedes trilogy with the heavyset detective in there.

Ok I am getting the Institute. The Stand miniseries did have miscast actors but I did like Jamey Sheridan as Flagg.

Yes, he was good in that role. But some of the roles were miscast. I don't care for Molly Ringwald and I definitely did not like that Laura San Giancomo as Nadine.
