The road from Anantnang to Keylong can be split to 3 parts: Anantnag to Kistwar: there is a road that is used by locals with a taxi service running between them but it has some heavy military presence, so riders are warned against riding that stretch(we did not) Kistwar to Killar: the photos on this post are from here Killar to Keylong: there is a road but it was blocked by a landslide when we had gone, so better to check conditions before hand.

> thanks - but it has some heavy military presence .. - is it allowed to go the road at all- or is the problem a jam because of heavy traffic - ? The road is open but civilian traffic is discouraged; no one wants to take any risk. There is no traffic on this road. > I cannot see Killar -are these villages at all . ? There are many small villages on the way, Killar is slightly bigger with a school, govt offices... this is Killar: http://g.co/maps/pd96z
