Down the coast

A week long trip to a few places down the east coast of Tamil Nadu turned to a gastronomic experience in local food; most of the times we ate at the cheapest of places along the road savoring what the masses ate. The food experience peaked at Karaikudi, the heartland of Chettinad where we had enough to warrant an afternoon nap on the side of the road!

We did visit a few places: Pichavaram, Velankanni, Rameshwaram, Dhanuskodi on the east coast and then headed west to Thekkady and finally the west coast at Varkala where we ended up experiencing the monsoons.
