so yeah this updating thing is weird, i will fight through it however.
day before yesterday:
went to the LAN place with a shitload of guys, phillips, me, tyler, ian, joey, chris, roysden, phil, cook, farrier, fazel, and more, it was awesome as usual. owned at generals with china infantry, hell yes. yeah, that was pretty much my day, im not complaining. it was good chillin with tyler again though, i probably hang out with him most out of my out of school friends but it still doesn't feel like we hang out enough since hes one of my closest friends. well thats what happens when you got to different schools i guess.....
so yesterday was the unholy alliance tour. slayer, lamb of god, children of bodom, mastodon, and thine eyes bleed. phillips and i, after a little trouble getting there since its in mesa and it was our first time, arrive during the middle of thine eyes bleed, and as phillips said it was good generic metal done right, so yeah they were pretty good. then mastodon came on, and they owned, im not gonna lie, im not a big mastodon fan, but they tore it up. they played iron tusk, aqua dementia, march of the fire ants, crystal skull, megalodon, i am ahab, and a few more songs, ending with the awesome blood and thunder.
after them was the band phillips and i pretty much went for, children of bodom. it didnt feel like they got to play too many songs, but they did play, among others, needled 24/7, living dead beat, in your face, sixpounder, angels don't kill, and downfall. the mosh during bodom was NUTS, second only to the devildriver mosh at the in flames concert. i was completely spent after the set and phillips and i headed to the back, because we had gotten up close for mastodon and bodom. lamb of god pretty much owned live. they were really really good though i didnt know all their stuff.
slayer was last and it was epic, as soon as they got on the stage a huge lightning bolt was in the sky and a huge rumbling of thunder proceeded, this was incredibly epic considering slayers most famous song is Raining Blood. While introducing the awesome new song, Cult, the slayer frontman said something along the lines of "this song is about...gatherings, gatherings of people who celebrate things in a happy manner. we are here to celebrate the unholy alliance and a certain religion. the religion of heavy metal." yay for band speeches, course i fucked that up, it was more awesome than that.
