Thankfully I didn't have my dream problem last night, though something else was plauging me instead. My back was bothering me a lot so I tossed and turned quite a bit. I have my herniated disc and it gives me a lot of grief which I just suck up. All a part of the territory since there is nothing I can do for it to get any kind of relief.
When I went to work today I had a big task in front of me and it wasn't such a great day. First, I dodged a bullet by getting in the office right before it started pouring rain. When I got in I did my daily tasks and Todd ducked out cuz he had to grab some lunch and go to a meeting down in Miami. While he was out I began getting everything off of my desk that I could. I started to get rid of all the invoices I had already sent out on Friday that had their copies for me to staple and put away. I started doing that but then realized I should take care of getting the lot liquidations done that I needed and inputting the weights. I took care of that and then set out to get the invoices from Friday done since I had enough riding about that sort of thing last week. So, while doing all of that I kept getting interrupted tens of times to answer the phone and type up orders for Todd. While Todd was out, this was about 3:30 p.m. or so, we got a call from one of the customers saying one of the trucking companies wasn't gonna pick up his order. They hadn't gotten any notice that we were in need of their services and so they had too much going out today to take the guys fish to him. That pissed everyone off and there was no other way to send this guy his fish.
Well, normally I fax that trucking company and another to tell them. But, I haven't had any problems whenever I do it, it just goes through. I don't talk to the contact person at that company unless there is a problem. Since there was none usually, I never spoke with him. It turns out the trucking company hadn't gotten the fax and the numbers I had for them, phone and fax, were old and not used. The company had changed names and numbers about nine months ago and had never told us at all. We got no notice otherwise I would have everything updated. So, that was really shitty and that caused a big problem. No way for me to know it wasn't going through to the right person or there were any problems since I had no notice at all.
The other thing that had me a bit worried at work was my old coworker Mara calling up. Michelle and Todd were both out of the office and Mara called up. She said she, Michelle and Todd were supposed to go out to lunch together on Wednesday but she had to change the day. Her mother and law was gonna watch her two kids that day but it turns out she can't. So, she wanted to switch the lunch to Thursday and wanted to know if it would work for Michelle and Todd. That was of course the first I had heard of any of that, since no one ever tells me anything since I just work in the afternoon and they care nothing about me. This got me quite worried with all the happenings that have gone on lately with me bickering about getting the invoicing done. I thought well, they didn't tell me about this lunch and they might talk to her about coming back and taking over for me. Thankfully, Michelle dispelled all the worry for me when she was talking to me about Mara. Michelle said that Mara wouldn't come back to work at our company because we can't pay her enough, if she worked for us she couldn't afford daycare for her two kids. Also, Knut (the president of the company) wouldn't hire her back since she takes too many days off for her kids, he doesn't like she has kids. He needs a solid worker for the Sam's Club stuff who will be there day in and day out and can handle this stuff without a problem. It's our big client and we can't have any mess ups at all. So, that gave me some relief that I wasn't going to be fired and replaced by Mara who actually does know how to do my job.
At work my mom called me to tell me she had finally come home from her root canal. She had actually gone out to eat afterwards, that tells you how fine she was. LOL. She went to this restaurant called Sweet Tomato and she said her root canal was fine. They found some tiny little cracks in her tooth but not one big one, which was really good. She has to go see her dentist to get a temporary crown and then in a month they will fit her with a permanent crown if her absess in her mouth has gone down. Right now there is like a little blister there, which the doctor says is good, it saves her from a ton of pain he said. This evening she mostly was just tired and wanted to sleep a lot, she got some rest in before we had dinner. During dinner we watched part of the DVD for the movie North Country and it was pretty good. So terrible what those ladies had to go through, no one should have to put up with any of that. We watched "Prison Break" and "24" and that after that we came upstairs to watch the rest of the DVD. We finished up around 11:30 p.m. with the DVD and have just been relaxing since then. North Country was good, Charlize Theron always knows how to transform herself so well. My favorite line from the movie was, Josie's Dad after being told she's gonna work at the mine, "So, you're going to be a lesbian now?" Josie's little daughter, "I want to be a lesbian!"
Man, don't forget that "Veronica Mars" is on UPN tomorrow! I almost let it slip and forget, they switched the night so if you are gonna tune in, check it out tomorrow. It's going to be SO good! There is gonna be an Alona Tal guest appearance so it is a must see! Plus, the show is amazing and if you are not watching then you are seriously missing out. Thank goodness I remembered, gotta make sure I keep a steady rememberance going on that.
With the show talk going on, here are my "Prison Break" thoughts:
Oh would you hook up with the doctor already Michael!? I knew he had to be putting on a facade and he was gonna go into the wack shack when he was in his "catatonic" state. But, I didn't realize it was so he could go and see Haywire. Damn?! This show is amazing! Twists and turns and Michael being ever so clever and awesome. So cute how the nurse was trying to tell the doctor she had a crush on Michael. They need to seroiusly kiss or something already cuz there is way too much hormones running with those two. If she can fix Michael, as if he needs it, they would be one amazing couple. Especially with his smartness an hotness and ditto for her! :D That beating the wall was crazy though man, he had to have broken his arm. As a matter of fact, I've done something like that before when angry, but obviously not as hard. We all have our moments. And the guard putting Tweener with that husky dude, NICE. That kid is gonna be someone's bitch for sure! Too bad Sucre is in the shoe now though too, all three guys were there at once, mega insanity. How the hell are they gonna take care of things now with the guys all spread out like that. Things are gonna become incredibly interesting, more so then they always are now that things are getting deeper and deeper. And LJ going to the FBI guys house, stupid! He shot the guy in the ear and now he's gonna go to jail. What kind of idiocy is that. I know he wanted revenge but nothing great came out of it and he's an amatuer, he wasn't gonna get far and he's not a killer. Way to go, can't wait til Veronica and the other guy (Nick I think is his name) get wind of that. More shit they have to deal with. Stellar episode though!
My last comments for "24" tonight:
Chloe is gonna be in some deep doo doo when she gets caught helping Audrey, and that looks like next episode to me. I can't wait til they actually try to take down the president and Martha has to eat her apology to her husband. She shouldn't be apologizing to him anyways, he was such a bastard to her all day long. I am wondering what Henderson did to Evelyn. I know he said she told him where Jack was going but did he kill her, did he have to do anything to her or her daughter to get it out. I can imagine she pretty much just gave up the info but I can't imagine Henderson would let Evelyn or her daughter really live after that. Too bad that the guy who was the bank manager died, that was pretty terrible. It's all going to be unfolding pretty soon!
Remember, tomorrow at 9 p.m. is "Veronica Mars," you must watch! Oh, and my mom got some cookies to try (they seem like they are chips ahoy) for a Nielson study. I have not touched them at all. We're setting up more interviews for the magazine. Thursday will be with singer Susan Cagle, another person I am not familiar with. Also, an actress who played the little girl in The Patriot and she did a few other things. Also, Marco Donato, I think that's his name, from Degrassi: Next Generation. The more the merrier, bring it on now sugar! And there we go, it all comes back to "Veronica Mars." LOL.
