I'm Not 9 Years Old

The title is what Andrew has to realize. He has resorted back to punching Jamie and I in the arm a whole lot. I think my arm is all bruised and sore. He just gets rambunctious and thinks he can play with us like he does his little buddies and that doesn't work. I'm not 9, I don't like to be hit in the arm, and I don't think it's funny.

We had to watch him again this afternoon and when I came in from Walgreens (yes I ended up going cuz my boss let me go at 4 p.m. and I felt a bit better) it was on. He was playing this Tiger Woods video game when I came in and of course he was all ears about what I bought at Walgreens. What I bought was a Black Cherry Vanilla Coke, two Twix candy bars, some Tic Tacs, some Reese's peanut butter cups as Easter Eggs, an US Magazine, some Twizzlers (for when I go to the movies), batteries and tapes for when we do magazine interviews. Andrew became interested in the Twix, what little boy doesn't love candy. Of course the Twix and other candy is for me, I didn't buy it so he can be bouncing off the walls of my house! He kept saying he wanted a Twix and he went over by the bag and it got me worried he'd reach in there and take one out and eat it. I went and put the bag of candy on top of the freezer so there would be no way for him to get it. He returned to his video game but still was saying he wanted a Twix. So I said, we don't have big boy Twix's, we only have Twix's for big girls. He said, "I want a big girl Twix!" I said sorry, they are only for big girls and you're a little boy. Jamie and I thought that was pretty funny.

He returned to his game and after a while got bored and put on our Nintendo 64 so we could play a baseball game together. See, we only have one controller for our PS but we have two for the Nintendo 64. So, he and I played a couple games and he won the first and I won the second. While playing he kept saying that one of the players "bats like a hoe." Jamie kept asking him what that actually meant but I don't think he ever answered. I was teasing him that "bats like a hoe" was going to be his nickname. That when he had his games I'd show up and be shouting that from the stands while he was trying to bat. I said we'd get people to do the wave and while we were doing that they'd all be saying "bats like a hoe." Then I was saying I'd just be taunting him by saying "bats like a hoe" just like people taunt players with their names all the time. Like way back when people would taunt Darryl Strawberry by going "Darryl....Darryl...Darryl." Lame but still we all did it. When we were done playing he made up some random song about one of the baseball players, whose name is Ichiro, that's actually his last name. He was saying some random funny stuff he was making up and then he goes "take it Lis!" So, I made up some crap and we were all having a good laugh at that. We made Andrew do his homework at this point, since he mentioned he had some. He did his math and then just as he was starting his science his dad came home. Oh, before he did his science he was asking if he could go to our other neighbors to ask if his friend Adam could come to see his baseball practice. We told him no, he had to do his work. But he kept saying he wanted to go and we said no, we told him he could call Adam on the phone. He didn't want to. So, we said sit down and do your work and that's it. Andrew had problems with his scienc, we were trying to help him with it cuz he didn't understand. First, he said he needed help. Then we offered to come help and he said no. He was just being jerky about it. His dad came home though and so he went off to his house, not having all of his homework done. His dad came home at a regular time cuz Andrew had to go to baseball practice at 7:30 p.m. Andrew and I did agree while he was at our house that he and I would go and see Scary Movie 4 togehter when it came out. I don't mind going with him to films from time to time, especially ones we both enjoy. It's good company and I know he appreciates going with me, a little quality time just the two of us. I take him to the theater, his parents give him money, he buys his own ticket and food with that money. We play some games (mostly basketball) while we are there. They have one of those shoot the ball into the hoops games where it just racks up how many points you earn. Then we go see the movie and play a bit more there before leaving. I like it, it's nice to have something different to do. How many people have such a great relationship like that with their neighbors or even friends?

When he left Jamie and I started to get things ready for dinner. We ended up having some chicken tenders, my mom had gone to Costco but it was before her doctor's visit. So, she couldn't buy anything that would require refridgeration. The doctor she went to see today was for her ankle. Thankfully, he said that her ankle doesn't require surgery. Well, she can have surgery, but he wants to exhaust every other option first. She has to get a whole new cast now and she's of course going to have to pay for that too. He said at some point she probably sprained her ankle. And her ankle keeps rolling so it is bothering the ligament. That's what is causing all of her problems making it hurt and hard for her to walk. He doesn't want to do surgery because she has Diabetes and it would complicate things with the surgery. So, she'll do what she has to and see how much relief she gets from this new cast whenever she ends up getting it.

Here comes the TV talk, "Will and Grace" here I come:

It was Britney night and I have to say she did a pretty good job. I don't know what was up with the faces she kept making but she had a pretty good comedic flair. The whole thing with her being "A big les" I thought was really dumb. I loved her taking the Salma Hayek mug!! Course I thought it was also funny that Jack kept having Elizabeth fill his Matthew McCounahey mug so the shirt would come off. Grace looked like a whore with all that makeup on that Wanda Sykes (Crickett) did for her at the makeup counter. UGLY! Then again, like she said, her roommate is a transvestint. Also, whose name is Crickett?! I loved Karen picking her up at the makeup counter and taking her back home. The best was when Crickett told Karen to stop following her everywhere while taking pills and stop following her into the shower and coming in and spooning her in the bed after crying and crying. All that was really funny! Poor Karen wants to leave Stan after he came back from the dead. She just needs her friends more and she has a funny way of showing it. The whole George Takei thing I thought was really dumb and how Jack is now out of work again cuz AL was taking over his spot. Lame. It's out TV, they wanted to non-gay it up. What the hell is Jack going to do now?

I hate saying it but I did watch "The OC" even though I despise it. Sometimes it's just worth watching when you're utterly bored and really want to torture yourself. Thoughts:

I hate this show. I said it again! Marisa is boozing it up again and now is doing cocaine. Are we in series repeat or something? Cuz uh, I think it's overwith and been done before. I liked Marisa's reference to dating the manager at the Bait Shop previously. Like "dating" Alex would give her a big in with getting the booze she wanted. It was nice what she did for Ryan, too bad she's boning Volchek who is a complete tool. He tried to do the right thing but then did a whole 180. Marisa is seriously treating her mom and Summer poorly. I liked Summer and Marisa being in a fight though, it's pretty funny. The whole argument, they might as well just have thrown in "I know you are but what am I?" You know some stupid, immature comeback like that. The best and favorite most coveted part of the episode was Marisa calling Summer Veronica Mars lol. "You're a regular Veronica Mars, solving the mystery of the week." Can't get better than that! A whole other network referencing my favorite show, NICE! Sadie came back to hook up with Ryan and be his girlfriend, hope he stays happy for a while. Seth going to the AA meeting with his mom was touching and great, she needed him there. Gold digging Julie was there for a moment and then I think she left again when Summer's dad said it was a trial with the engagement. The whole Sandy/Matt thing is ridiculous and I think this whole years storylines are asinine. The show is down the crapper, I haven't really enjoyed it since season one. Anna, will you please resuscitate The OC for us when you return?

I am hoping to get out of work early tomorrow so I can catch a film. I might go and check out Ice Age 2. I haven't seen the first but that hasn't stopped me with films before lol. We'll see.

the oc, will and grace, video games, andrew
