I took a break from the black lace sweater of dooooom to knit a cable beret (on sz 11 needles, holy crap) and I look like a moron in all the pictures of it so I'm not posting it, although they're on flickr.
Julie and I went to the yarn store yesterday and I bought yarn, lots of beautiful yarn...
As julie and I were standing in line to check out I kept saying "it's a bag of... it's a bag of..." and I couldn't think of the word I was thinking of, so everyone got into the act offering up nouns, but what I meant was potential! It's a bag of potential. Hee.
This is for a twisted thistle beret as a gift for someone who may or may not be reading this so shhh.
These are for a baby sweater for my old boss's baby, due in February. She invited me to her shower Jan 10, so I better get cracking. She doesn't know if she is having a boy or a girl so I am trying to do gender neutral, with the
wee leafy bootie and hat set and then some other kind of sweater. The hat and booties will be in green and the sweater in brown with green leaf accents. I haven't thought up what kind of sweater pattern yet -- I may make up my own.
(do any of the moms on my flist have an opinion about whether a cardigan or a pullover is better for a baby?)
This is for me. I told the yarn store ladies that I wanted to knit myself a yellow hat and scarf and I didn't care about the yarn weight or composition but I just wanted a really beautiful yellow and this is what they came up with for me. <3
I love the
Knitting Workshop. They are so nice and knowledgeable there, unlike the people at the other knitting store who shall not be named. I also like my neighborhood yarn store, but the knitting workshop has moar yarnz.
I now have a simply ridiculous project queue that will probably keep me busy all throughout 2009. Ha.
