Whispering in Class

My favorite moment of today was orchestra rehearsal. We're doing a pops concert of Americana, starting with the national anthem and moving on to West Side Story, Copland, and other American composers (with a chorale, too!). I'm standmates with an old college friend. During undergrad, we were standmates for a year or two, plus in a quartet together. We do not have the most scintillating conversations, but it's familiar, and I've always enjoyed his company. Friends are awesome. Especially when they jiggle to the music too, and thus you feel free to dance in you chair. :) Seriously, I get so high off of playing sometimes. Whether it's a lighting fast entrance, or a really neat drum part behind you, there's so much to love. This is why I want to keep playing in orchestra. There's a cameraderie, a togetherness that you don't even have to know someone personally to gain. So yeah, good rehearsal. :)
