the indent used to use blockquote but seems to have changed in a recent upgrade. you can always use the indent tag and then hand-fix the html through the source tab.
oh. i've only rarely used it for non-LiveJournal, using the blogger API layer to talk to my blog-city (which I don't post nearly enough on). In livejournal mode, there's no categories, only tags (located down the left side with emoticon and icon selections). different world. :)
Okay, in DS's options, under Formatting Options, is "use styles instead of old tags" checked? If you check that then it'll do the CSS indenting instead of putting blockquotes in.
Why does that replace blockquote? Blockquote is one of the non-deprecated tags. The whole point of the "specify specific styles like italics with CSS, not style-specific tags like I" thing is that you're supposed to use semantic markup (like EM, STRONG, BLOCKQUOTE etc.); replacing everything with STYLE and inline CSS is the opposite of what's intended.
Moz's HTML editor has a setting you can set called useCSS. If you set it to true (which is false, it's backwards), then it'll use b, i, blockquote, etc. If you set it to false, then it uses spans with inline styles for everything. That checkbox just sets the option on or off.
So, back to the category thing...ext_199013July 16 2009, 16:56:06 UTC
The blockquote thing is taken care of, but can anyone help with the default category issue?
To recap: When I open DS, it lists the categories from my blog, but it A) lists them in alphabetical order and B) defaults to the first one alphabetically. I'd like it to default to "Choose a Category" or to the last category I used.

I was kinda hoping for a simpler way to do blockquotes -- it's something I use all the time. Maybe I can tweak the indent in my site's CSS. Hmm.

Any ideas about that? Thanks!
