Reset

Would it be possible to add a button to clear or reset the window?

I have found on several occasions, that such a button would be very useful and helpful.

Control (or Apple) A to select all, and then hit backspace isn't enough?

if you're in the WYSIWYG window and do that, some tags that have no content in them won't disappear, so when you start typing, that style (or link) keeps affecting your text and the only way out is to go to the source view and do that ^A/delete.

yes, it can be done, but it's quite tedious.

No. I've sometimes selected a whole bunch of stuff for links using right click/send to DS but either thought better of the post or ended up copying it into the web interface (for a poll or something).

The next time I try to post using that interface, I get all my previous (unposted through DS) stuff there. So if I have a bunch of new links, I have to add them all, then delete all the old stuff, which is really annoying, as it resets every time you add a new link in as well (which is a bit dumb but at least I can workaround).

Oh sorry. Wasn't aware this was the wise-ass forum.

Well yeah, of course it could be done that way. Duh!

However, if the Music, and Subject fields are filled in as well, turns what COULD be a one step process, into a 4 step process. Plus, even IF you do that, and clear everything out of the body, next time you bring up D.S. again, the leftover information is still there. So maybe if it's too much for an actual reset button, maybe you just have D.S. clear itself when you close it out, as opposed to retaining the left over info?

Just figured it might be a nice enhancement. As would making it so that you could embed, and then upload images to Lj/Fotobuilder. Something that would come in VERY useful, but after the "Control A/Backspace" admonishment, I wouldn't dare mention THAT.

Thanks for presuming that I was being a wiseass. I was trying to ask why the method I mentioned was inadequate. You presented several reasons why it wouldn't work after I gave my suggestion.

I agree that a "discard draft" functionality would be useful, especially as DS' draft functionality is so enthusiastic.

Ok, riiiiight.

I don't really have an issue with you being a smart-ass. I'm a professional smart-ass, but don't be insulting after the fact. You were being a smart-ass. Like I said, I don't care. Crap like that doesn't bother me. Just when you get it back, don't get all defensive. You were a smart-ass, I gave you a little give and take... let's move on

IF, you were TRYING to ask why that method was inadequate, perhaps that's what you should do? Maybe? You know, ASK.

As you can see from the comments, I'm not the only one viewing this feature as helpful. Obviously we like the tool you made, or we wouldn't be here.

It's really a good little plugin, and one that I use virtually everyday. You did a great job with it. Just a couple of suggestions that would be helpful and useful. That's all.
