a) Note ports - nominally that suburban Roundworld one, the carnival 'flood', where I was not only forcibly human, but also subjected to enslavement because I was a 'freak'.

b) Note the huge majority of humans. Note the fact I've acknowledged my breach of Dwarfish Law, and yet still remain here. Note the fact it's always human holidays, human traditions, human concepts that happen as a result of floods. We've only ever taken trips to the Roundworld. I have only seen two Dwarfs here in the entire history of this place. It's even basic things of everything being too large. Even a little consideration would be appreciated.

c) Randal Graves. Proof enough?

d) Oh, so this little box I now have in my possession just... popped up out of nowhere? Without you knowing about it? [Insert Dwarfish curse translatable as 'bullshit', but more accurately meaning 'the slimy, silty deposits left by the river Ankh in the bottom of a city mine'.]

e) I died for what I believed. My imprisonment is unjust and by human standards. That is nobody but your doing.

f) Did you not get my Christmas letter?

g) So where was I for the past two months? And who could have done that bar you?

h) Ray disappeared. I disappeared and conveniently came back and found a preening bloody mine canary as Narvin's inmate. Again, who else did that bar you?

[laugh] Someone else, obviously. On all counts.

Who are you, and when did you commandeer the ship?

[Someone is warily watching here.]

....He's acting a little like the Admiral from the "other" Barge.

Fairly sure it is just the Admiral. Just one avoiding responsibility.

I don't suppose it matters. We'd still get the same floods and breaches.

He'd still be a [do not even ask what this Dwarfish curse means. It might make people cry] who totally disregards any non-human cultures. Either way.

Coming in with body parts absent, I must admit, isn't quite a welcoming feeling.

Exactly. And don't tell me there hasn't been an event where you've been made human by force.

Oh, yes. Several. I'm fortunate if I get new memories to go with it because then I don't feel as though I'm half deaf with a clogged nose.

You better be furious.

I am. I just don't mention it frequently. It's bad enough for the ship to be blindly doing it, but having some pompous bored bastard agitating me because they have no better way to spend their time than berating me isn't particularly something I want to encourage.

You have to put your fury in words or it counts for naught.

I've written a few things. I just keep them to myself. Nobody here listens the way people in my culture listen.

[Okay, well, no.] Few people here do, anyway.

Then you make them listen by giving your words weight. It is a waste otherwise.
