They're... there's two types on the Disc. Draco nobilis and Draco vulgaris. The former seem to function entirely on magic, and defy usual laws of... well, anything they please, I'm told. The latter are like the... squatter, less magical, more common version. They can be kept in relative domesticity, rather like a small scaly horse.

The former... might guard hoards. But you'd have to get close enough to find out.
