Have you humans stopped killing each other yet?

You have? Oh, good.

I have two points of interest.

Firstly, I'm a little curious, as I've been talking to some new residents: How many of you come from a world where Dwarfs are an actual race and culture, and not just short humans? There seem to be more than there used to be. [And he switches to Dwarfish - written in runes, fyi.] And how many of you can understand this?

[Back to Morporkian]

Secondly, in the Doctor's absence, I'll take responsibility for the library. I don't mind. I'd hate for it not to be watched by someone. [Yes, he's an inmate. He's hoping nobody objects/notices.]

Thirdly, what's this talk of a human holy day? Aren't they normally accompanied by enforced cheeriness sent up from Below? I don't think I'm being mentally manipulated, so surely it can't be a holy day of the dominant racial group? Not on the Barge. (New non-humans. You might want to get used to this.)

[Private to Narvin]

In the off chance that someone notices and cares that I don't exactly have the authority to take control of the library, can I make a proposal to you?

Also. If there is some Admiral inspired stupidity, slap me if I do anything stupid. That, or lock me in my room.

warden permission? what's that?, epic library worker right here, high means low and low means high, trust the humans..., self-appointed lord of the library, pick a stupid human holiday, ardent doesn't always shout, destroy a word and you destroy the world, high fantasy fistbumps
