this is the stuff that makes me feel privileged to have met you in person! i really enjoy your "men's point of view," as well as your perspective, i think you're also saying what a lot of men might be thinking but cannot say. are you working on any books or anything?
and yes, i see now why you don't want to head out to bar sin! all i needed to read was "dry ice for affect" and i knew where you were. it's kinda pathetic, i know, but it's more fun to be on the "outside" while you're there. dress in pink and wear a tiara! or a plain, button up shirt, grey trousers, loafers and no make up or hair gel. then it's fun, but sadly in that "glad i'm no there" type of way. ah, i am too cruel for my own good!
Thanks Ms. Bean. I am really happy and honored to also know you IRL. You are certainly one of the good apples. So, we'll have to figure out our plan of attack. Bar Sin is ok. It is either decent or completely blows goats. Let me know when you are feeling like heading out and we'll see what's going on around town. Because we are SO connected and hip like that.
this weekend is out cos we are going to NC for the 1 year anniversary of my mother in law's death. but anytime after this weekend is good with me. i don't know if any of those other nights are still going on. i think i heard Helter might come back for one night, but sometimes that is lame...
You were gone the weekend that Helter came back, so I didn't say anything. However, it was actually quite glorious. Glllloriouuuuus! so, we'll have to figure out something in the next week or two. I believe you are back, oui?
If I remember correctly - which is rather questionable - you were fresh off of a break-up when we first met. 2002? 2003? (whoa!) While I admit that I enjoy your LJ far more when you're going through "shit", I find it more reassuring to be subjected to your writing during periods lacking profound creativity because at least I know that life is being good to you.
Thanks Lesli. And yes. We did meet way back then, and it is astounding to me just how quickly time motors. Throw a couple of long term relationships in there and boom! See you later time...
I'm working through all the bullshit. Slowly. Sometimes overtly maudlin, sometimes, isolating, sometimes (less than others) with maturity. It never ceases to amaze me, how much I enjoy writing during these periods, and it also never ceases to amaze me how comforting it is to know people are reading. So thanks...
