* Denotes a reread.

Two more crummy reading months, though with a more obvious set of constraints this time: Jen's surgery, including the anxiety of the lead-up and the lack of quiet reading time in this month of aftermath. After finishing The Long Tomorrow on April 24, I even dared to hope that I could finish seven books in April, but my brain just isn't up to the task of processing dense literary prose, so I've been mired in a 185 page Peter Ackroyd novel these past seven days. So much for my "cheat" of reading extra short novels to bulk up my book count.

Some excellent reads these past two months, including The Innkeeper's Song, The Wild Places, and The Long Tomorrow. Not one book bad enough to be noteworthy, though there's been a tendency toward mediocrity (the Valente and the Brennan both were the least excellent installments in their respective series) which hasn't improved my current blockage of concentration.
