NaNoWriMo Day 3 Word Count: 5220

I'm having such fun!

I'm also having fun having white russians. So good when the weather is cool.

We had the kids baptized this past Sunday. It seems worthy of at least mentioning in LJ, as it was a pretty neat event. It wasn't nearly as hard as I thought it would be, partly because it was kind of a zoo. Six children and 1 adult were baptized in the same service, and there were about 15 kids surrounding the font and making a joyful mess of things. It was the best way for things to happen, all things considered. My dad would have enjoyed it. (He probably would have enjoyed it more if he had gotten to do it himself, but we must simply accept that this is only the first Great Event that we will lament his missing.)

I managed to make Clara's christening gown. I am v. pleased with how it turned out, though it was a ridiculously simple pattern. I had to choose something easy because I had about a week to get it done. I might wish I had chosen a nicer yarn in the long run, but the dress definitely worked, and I can save it for her when she's grown with her own kids.

I had a good time last week visiting with my mom. I went down to sit with her while she closed on her new house. It went off without a hitch, and we celebrated with a delicious steak dinner. Still a bittersweet event, but I hope that once she gets in there and we can come visit it will mark the recreation of the concept 'home.' Not an easy place, but an exciting one anyway.

I shall end with a reiteration that NaNoWriMo is FUN!
