Fandom what?

My Flist is literally exploding with new fandoms, all of which are amazing/going on my list of things to check out immediately. I know, I know, yet more fandoms. How ever will I keep up with them all? But like sublunarymagic over on dreamwidth said, I feel like I'm "that adhesive ball in Katamari Damacy, collecting everything in my path."

I just watched the first episode of Suits yesterday! It was AWESOME.

I KNOW RIGHT?!?!?! I have yet to watch the second episode but omg, this show is made of WIN and puppy dogs and rainbows and proper! suit porn. I kind of don't know what to do with myself while watching.

the number of fics for XMFC is INTIMIDATING, but so many of them are incredibly wonderful

I'm kind of terrified of diving head-first into it all. There is just SO MUCH and like, all this anger from the old school fans. I'll admit that like 100% of my x-men knowledge comes from the old animated tv show and video games-- so I'm not really hung up on staying true to the characters. But all of the commentary on how women and African Americans are portrayed in the film bothers me. I get that it's a light (oh look, explosions and capes and powers!) movie but details like that can really get under my skin sometimes. :/

I think I'm going to just end up trying to dl a copy online somewhere instead of spending cash to see it.

You know I am SO going to need it. Between these new ones and the fandoms I picked up while away (all things Stargate! and The Eagle), I am going to be GLUED to the PC.

I JUST saw the second, and I'm liking it even MORE after this one. It has White Collar-esque feel to it, except a tad more well-defined than the earlier episodes of that show. :D

And yes, too many XMFC fics. Too MANY. I've no clue either about the characters! I think I missed out on the cartoon :( I want to watch them. I haven't read commentary about the movie, actually. I'm sure they're affecting though! I'm sort of glad I saw the movie early on, because of it -- though I admit I hadn't initially been so enthused, just because the third X-Men movie made me too sad.

Definitely DL if you're iffy! No reason to pay the inordinate theater ticket price. Rawr at them!

Sorry for taking so long to get back to you. I keep meaning to reply to comments as soon as I get them and to post more often but ugh, it never seems to work that way. I'm blaming the heat- it's been horrible and muggy for like the last two weeks and it's got me nervous about keeping my computer on for any length of time.

How are you surviving the summer?

I haven't watched the third episode yet although I've heard nothing but good things about it. Have you seen it yet? Are you still loving it? I need to find a steady place where I can download the episodes for free. Should I let you know if I'm successful in my search?

too many XMFC fics. Too MANY.

I was surprised actually at how fast this fandom appeared and then disappeared from my flist's posts. I mean I kept hearing about how large the fandom is but I think I can count the number of fics/recs that my flist made on one hand. Do you have any recommendations for good ones? I'm not sure if I want to join a bunch more communities quite yet.

As for your question, I survive the summer and the winter and the ugly months in between aside from the two weeks left over by being a hermit within my house. And you?

SUITS. Yeah, third episode is grand! Gets better and better :D I love it when relationships develop and move forward as opposed to continuously stepping back. Like Merlin, even though Merlin is dear to my heart. I've actually been watching the episodes on Megavideo from sidereel.com, but if you ARE successful at all, I'd love to know where from! I want to rewatch like whoa.

XMFC! Did it disappear?! I'm not following any comms geared toward Erik/Charles because of the dearth of fics that continue to be written. Too much to handle for sure. I am following the Hank/Alex one, though, as there are very few things that crop up there. I just love those characters. I wish there was a more generic comm with ALL of the characters though. I like the others TOOO. I'll come up with a rec list for you! Any favorite pairings/characters???

Oh, why didn't I think of sidereel? I'll have to start using that one but i'll keep you posted if I find something better.

I'm sure it's still going on, just.. not so much with the people I watch? Anyway, I'd be up for pretty much anything you want to toss my way. It's been such a long time since I've delved into xmen that I'm pretty open on the subject of pairings.
