Great Gatsby is a good book, I guess the detractors can't appreciate stories from that timeframe.
I'm going to try reading more Fitzgerald books because he and Bret Easton Ellis write about similar things and I'd like to see how Fitzgerald's other books are. I do prefer Ellis because his writing is more clear and his books are really fun reads. Gatsby was pretty vague at points but the descriptions, characters, and story were very well constructed, especially in a whopping 182 pages. I'd recommend it to people who like to read, regardless of what they read.
