So according to
doc_cathode I still am not updating this often enough. Fine, fine, here's another update, happy now?
So, fun times were had last night. Went to Brunswick Zone in Feasterville with Paul, Jim, Micah, Nai, Nero, and
doc_cathode. We were there for a mid-birthday celebration for Paul and I- arranged before it even occurred to me that it was St. Patrick's day.
Spent some time in the arcade at the beginning of the night. Not much of an arcade, really, though there were a handful of semi-fun redemption machines. They had "Ice Ball" which was a really crappy knock-off of Skee Ball. The balls were made of cheap lightweight plastic, and the ramp was made of linoleum that was warped to the point of distorting the way the balls went. Very un-satisfying. Or maybe I'm just a Skee-ball snob.
Then we went to the restaurant to eat. Had some crappy pizza. Jim bought me my first ever Irish Car Bomb at the bar. I figured it was going to be disgusting, but it was surprisingly good. Drank far more Soda than I should have too.
After that, we played a round of Lazer-tag.Go Green Team! We beat Red Team by what was apparently an unusually large margin- 29150-21900. I personally came in 9th place out of the 19 people playing with 2800 points. 16.53% accuracy. Not too bad for not having played in over a decade. I tagged more than twice as many as tagged me =). Very much a fantastic game, and a heck of a workout too. I need to go do that more often.
Then it was on to bowling. We got their family pack, which included shoe rentals, a pitcher of soda (more ><), and 2 hours of all-you-can-eat bowling. With 7 people playing, we managed to get 2 games in during out 2 hours. I did as bad as I usually do during the first game, but about halfway through the second game, something just clicked. I had an epiphany of sorts, and realized what I've been doing wrong all these years. Prior to this, I had gutter balls more often than not. After, I started picking up spares left and right. Went from being dead last to getting the 2nd highest score that game.
All in all, a very fun night. Good times were had by most.
