Have I mentioned

That the food here is really, really good? The fruit is amazing. Always ripe, flavorful and delicious. We had tomato sandwiches tonight for dinner (that may be a southern thing, I don't really know - tomato slices, mayo and bread - peanut butter is an option I like) made with tomatoes from the supermarket down the street. The bread is great, the tomatoes taste like the ones that used to come from local gardens when I was growing up.

Snack foods are above par as well, with all kinds of cookies, crackers and chips as well as candies of all flavors. I currently am munching on a baggy of Cebolitos (cebola is Portuguese for onion) which are more or less small Funyuns. They contained a "Shuriken Card" from some Anime type thing. It says Naruto on the front and is indeed in the shape of a cardboard shuriken.

Had lunch today at the plant cafeteria where the food is awesome. I looked out the windows (they have a wall of huge glass windows that are mostly kept open due to temp and humidity) and gazed out over vast tracts of green, flowing hills, tropical bushes, flowering trees and small terra-cotta roofed houses. I then realized that "they get it". They take care of their employees, feed them well, let them relax in a nice open cafeteria, provide an on-site bank and ATM's and all kinds of other perks. Wow, what a difference a hemisphere makes. No wonder people here are so relaxed and friendly.
