FDU is crazy
Dear College at Florham students, faculty and staff,
At approximately 2:30 p.m. this afternoon we found a message in a men's rest room in the library basement that warned of a bomb on campus. Police were immediately notified and quickly responded to the scene. Members of the county sheriff's bomb squad and the county prosecutor's office also quickly arrived.
The library and student center were evacuated. Authorities determined this was a non-specific, low-level threat. Several inspections were conducted and the buildings were found to be safe.
During this time, I notified the community through e-mail that an investigation was taking place. We have been asked why we did not use the cell phone notification system. That system must only be used in the case of an immediate threat to the campus community.
