Latest update--
Start from the beginning THE PAIN THE PAAAAIN
Another update, another bout of hair-pulling experimentation in MangaStudio. I've been collecting a bunch of notes intending to post some lessons hard-learned from the struggle-- just in case anyone else out there is, like me, jumping up and down on this bastard software for hours and hours and hours until they whimper Uncle!, pass out and die.
This time I did everything but the tones in MS. The new way I've evolved to do dialog bubbles and fonts is a keeper I think. I keep playing with the inking tools. Eventually I'm going to settle on one of the infinitely bazillion combinations of parameters and stick to it. Er, probably. And the final conclusion on the tones thing -- GIVE IT UP. There is no combination that will make both the low rez webversion and high rez print version of a page look equally wonderful. You can only optimize for one and settle for the other. And of course, you're gonna optimize for print... I dream of the day when I can focus on just one or the other (yeees I know, that will never happen...)
And Speaking of Tones
Just finished off a batch for DC 3. Canada has REALLY outdone herself on this one, GAW, just beautiful beautiful work. I keep bugging her to post a sneak peek but of course she never listens to a damn thing I say... :D
The Dayjob...
would OF COURSE ramp-up right NOW, when I'm overextended and flailing. But I handed off a deliverable this morning and got 6 emails back from various members of the committee-- 4 of which had the word 'awesome' in, so enjoy your reprieve, Unworthy WorkerDee, you have pulled it off at the last second again, alright! I high five myself!
PortconMaine in roughly two weeks...
Oi, Dee, your table is gonna look really nice with NOTHING ON IT UNLESS YOU GET BUSY. T_T
Gonna Pump YOU up!
This past couple of weeks I've altered my cardio routine again-- a new workout that really focuses on core conditioning in an innovative way. Love not having to do crunchies. HATE THE PUSHUPS, THO, THX.
