Just back from 1st Night Boston. It wasn't that crowded this year, probably because it's, like, 30 degrees outside (good thing I had the brandy flask and the long underwear :D ). The fireworks were breathtaking out over the harbor tonight, the water still like glass and reflective, big booms echoing off the skyscrapers downtown.
<-- Here's a snap of one of the ice sculptures out on the Common-- a glorious Pegasus! 10 feet tall, with colored lights flooding the ice, he's rearing on his hind legs on a mountain of snow-- the carved ice glittering diamond and crystal this cold, clear, beautiful night!
Happy New Year, everyone!
