I've earned only a C- on this con trip, I'm afraid, since I seem to have utterly failed on doing any of the traditional con thingies. No panels, no workshops, no shopping, no manga buying, etc. But we had a blast anyway! Myung volunteered us to work the Del Ray booth both Sat and Sunday-- and that earned us an industry badge, dinner with the rest ( Read more... )

Are you connected to this book called "Flight"in any way? I know close to nothing about it I might just check into it because I've seen some of your webcomics.

No, Silver, I'm just a fan but thank you. I highly recommend Flight-- it's not only beautiful comics, but also a kick-ass idea: that a bunch of independent comics people can come together and create their own anthology, and it can be a success. Talent, hard-work and initiative rewarded!

Hi, Pinkchan, thanks. I'm glad I got a chance to meet you though I do wish there'd been time to hangout more. I think you made quite an impression on Ralph-- it was his first con and his first opportunity, I think, to connect with kindred spirits. It would've been cool to sit down and get geeky, talking shop about comics. Ah well - maybe next year!

Oh dude, it was his first convention!? He said it was his first convention of that size...but being his first convention entirely, it must've been quite a shock! I remember my first convention... *holds hat to chest, wipes a tear of nostalgia away*

Maybe we'll have more time at AnimeLA? (Though GoHing must be more demanding...) I'm doing the table thing there, too!

Heh, hope I haven't impacted his coolness rating. :D I probably misunderstood Myung.

Oh, about the table rig: this is the site we referenced to construct it: http://homepage.mac.com/geerlingguy/jeffscomputersupport/tech_help_articles/photography/homemade_greenscreen.html My roommate built the frame out of PVC and Bettina did a brilliant job of sewing the fabric backdrop. We velcoed on the pinups. If you lived a bit closer I'd offer to share but you could probably build your own for what it'd cost you to ship it back and forth across the country.
