My wmp on random played most of Twilight OST as I was writing this. Weird!!

First and foremost, because I worked all day and was extremely exhausted and subsiquently didn't post yesterday,

HAPPY BIRTHDAYhopeless_cynic !!! Hope it was a great day! =D

Kristi's bday was also yesterday, but I already told her in person about that =)  Also, I bought us tickets to go to Family Guy Sings! as her birthday present, largely with money I've been saving in my piggy bank for the past 5 or so years.  So yeah, she's knows I want her birthday to be happy lol.

Ok I was writing a whole real post about Twilight because I had to work yesterday and wasn't able to post about it, but then I decided that it was getting too long and I was boring myself lol.  So here's the list version for the sack of brevity and also heightened amusement.

- I liked it.  I didn't full on love it and turn srs bsns again, but it wasn't nearly as much fail as I was starting to think it would be.
- I went to see it with my bff Kristi (devochka_bloom) and new friend Hannah (justapalindrome ), both Twats.  I think seeing it with Twats and for the purpose of lulz as I did affected how I perceived the movie.  Like I was paying more attention to the funny things and inside jokes being brought to life instead of just seeing it with a blank slate in my head (if that's possible).  I know I'll be seeing it again soon either with my mom or cousin so I think that time I'll try to be a little more blank slatey to see how I feel about it.

Onto actual movie things:
- I loved Charlie. LOVED.  He was hilarious and the thing with his shotgun had me rolling while simultaneously reminding me of my dad.  Also, when the hell did he become an alcoholic?! LOL
- I was a little put off by how quickly the story progressed.  At first I was thinking it was because they condensed a fairly long book into a not so long movie.  Then I remembered how Potter does the same thing all the fucking time but it usually doesn't feel so damned rushed.  I blame this on Catherine Hardwicke.  I think it was because of how quick Edward gave up his secret that made it feel off.
-Most of the casting seemed pretty good to me.  I thought Eric was a bit too trendy and eager, but still not awful.  Mike Newton was actually cast pretty perfectly. I almost found him cute but just, not. For the life of me, I could not figure out who "that black guy" was for the longest time.  Then when he was in the van I was like "Wait wtf? OHHHH TYLER LMAO". My memory fails guys haha.
- Rob was adorable. When he wasn't looking constipated I mean.  I cracked up when Bella first walked in to science class though cause holy shit HIS FACE xD Oh man that was hilarious.  His self loathing we can't be together-ness at the beginning was kinda crappy but I loved it once he became a little more accepting of what was happening.  Like the flirtation with Bella while she was trying to fix her truck? Totally perfect.  And when he threw his arms around her when they got to school.  Both really good parts.  This movie confirmed that Rob has the ability to light a girls panties on fire with one glance.  Because that happened to me more than once.
- I didn't hate Kstew NEARLY as much as I thouht I would.  In fact, I almost kinda liked her.  She wasn't as manly as I thought she'd be and that was good.  Her crazed stuttering when Edward threatened to leave was the HEIGHT of hilarity xD.  I mean, form a fucking sentence, jeez!  But holy shit, the scene where she imagined Rob biting her? My vagina exploded a little. It was ridiculously hot.  Um yeah. I think that's all I have to say about her.
- Billy fucking Black. I loved him so much, you guys. His friendship with Charlie was just the cutest thing ever. And I've found new tru fax about him.  When he drives past Edward and they death glare each other, I leaned over to Kristi and was like "Billy Black will run over your toes!" and she pretty much died laughing. So don't piss BB off. He'll run over your toes.
- Jacob was adorable and made me like him the way I did the first time I read the book.  He wasn't all pervy and creepy, just genuine and eager. I thought Taylor was pretty good in this.  But then that's not surprising cause I was never a Taylor hater. I'm a little ashamed to admit that I find him kind of hot though since he's so young and, well, Sharkboy LOL
- Ok, now I think you all know that I had my doubts about Peter Facinelli in the beginning.  I mean, I was basing my opinions of him on Can't Hardly Wait where he played the ultimate douchebag.  I started thinking he was hot with the promo shots and interviews though so I should've seen this coming, but I totally didn't.  The scene when he enters the hospital room and we see him for the first time? I seriously was knocked breathless. HOLY HALE WAS HE HOT!! Actually, during the whole fucking movie he maintained this ridiculous level of gorgeous that was hard to fathom.  I totally think if Catherine was able to knock me dead with Peter's entrance the way she did, she should've done the same with Edward's.  When Edward entered, I don't think the effect was nearly as breathtaking, and I don't think it had anything to do with the actor.
- I loved what little of Emmett we got.  I was pissed that Gangsta!Emmett was cut, but he was still wicked adorable.  "Duh, her name is Bella" LMAO! Kellan was so cute and I just wanna kiss him and hug him forever xD I can't wait to see more of him later.  In fact, I think the main reason I'm looking forward to sequels is because we'll get more from the other Cullens in the later movies.
- What was up with Jasper as Edward Scissorhands? LOL SO random, but that's exactly who he reminded me of when they first walk in the cafeteria.  Hannah thought the same thing at the same time xD It annoyed me that his first line was like halfway through the movie but it worked out ok because he was crazy hot in the baseball scene. RAWR! More on that later.  But same deal here as with Emmett, yay future movies with more Jasper. :)
- Alice and Esme were both super cute.  I had my doubts about her originally, but in the end I thought Ashley Green did a really good job actually.  Both of them were perfect in the roles they were given and yeah. That is all. Oh yeah! Alice tearing off James head was pretty fucking rad.
- Rosalie was ok.  I still think Nikki is prettier as a brunette and thus not great as Rosalie but she was alright in her performance of the role. Bitchy and standoffish as expected.  Anyone else notice she was almost ghetto fabulous in those jeans she was rocking in the cafeteria? I was like, whoa, junk in the trunk! Lol
- Laurent, James and Victoria were good too, although I found Victoria's presence at the prom was ridiculous and unnecessary but whatev.
- The sparkling. Oh jeez.  I honestly wondered how they'd do it and it was as ridiculous as I though it might be.  He just looked really sweaty lol. Like, REALLY sweaty...not gorgeous or anything lol. Sometimes I step out of myself and think "how is it that I like a book about vampires that fucking sparkle?". Sigh. Fail.
-  I'm hearing a lot of negative things about the special effects but I have to say, I didn't hate them.  Maybe because I was expecting failing effects to the tone of "The Covenant" with awful sound effects and stupid visuals.  In comparison to that, Twilight was almost good LOL.  But really, it exceeded my expectations in that department.  I didn't  hate the ridiculous running so that's something I guess.

Wow, so much for keeping it brief LMAO. Oh well. Cookies to you if you read all that.  The basic summary is: with the current cast and a different director it could've been a better movie, but even as it is now, it wasn't entirely made of fail (imo).

Thanksgiving in less than a week! \o/
