~~
I am currently perched uncomfortably on a green slatted folding chair. In the miniature park beneath the bells of Herald Square, there are about a hundred of these green seats. As uncomfortable as they are, they do provide a nice rest from the hustle and bustle. As I write, I'm marveling at all the movement. Every few minutes, a person will come by, grab a chair and move it before sitting down. I've seen this happen at least 10 times since I took my seat. What is the purpose of this change? Is it to obtain a better view of the street? Maybe move so they're in the shade instead? Or perhaps it's to avoid being downwind of the smelly homeless guy. Who knows. It's like the city is playing some modified version of musical chairs and I wasn't invited to join. Or! Or I did my part by taking a seat without moving the chair, thus changing the energy of the park and causing everyone to have to shift around me. That's probably it.
There goes another one...
