Oh the naive minds of children

When I was in elementary school, my dad told me that the guy who sang "Don't worry, be happy" commited suicide.  Anytime I was feeling down and a friend would say "Aww Dee, don't worry, be happy!" I'd reply with "That guy commited suicide." and then there'd be an awkward silence or a quizzical look or a "Really? Man..." or in Amanda's case (my personal favorite) "Seriously? Well fuck that! Worry! Don't be happy!"  In about 7th or eighth grade I mentioned it to him and  he told me that that wasn't true, he'd been kidding when he said that.  We both cracked up thinking about how many people I told the lie too.  Whoops.

I had a good weekend with my family.  It was short, but the food was good, my family was good, I talked to my mother FOREVER about everything, and was able to see Knocked Up with my brother.  Good times indeed.

family, father's day, daddy
