Wow...5 months on sabatical and I'm back now.
Hello livejournal world. Did you miss me?
Well...what's new with me? I started a new job a few weeks ago. I am back in parks & recreation, this time with the City of Delray Beach. I run their teen center. I started working there 4 years ago part time, but left after 5 months when I was offered the director's position with the City of Boca Raton teen center.
I love it! Working with teens can be challenging, yet so rewarding at the same time.
Unfortunately, one of my employees passed away last week. He was 26. He had a seizure in the water while surfing. Over 500 people attended his funeral. Both his parents work for the city, so the entire city was basically there! He was well loved. So I was busy working my hours and his hours, plus comforting my staff and the teens!
Garrett and I are still together...yep, can't seem to get rid of him! He is finally graduating in December! YIPPY!
I was hoping to start house hunting in January, but with me starting the new job and Garrett soon to be looking for a new job...we will just have to rent one more year.
No ring yet...maybe I will get a nice xmas present!
