Oh my god, I feel like that was just one big letdown... I stopped at home to get some comfy shoes, expecting a long wait. I got there and the only people who were outside were campaign volunteers - local - so i figured it'd only be a couple minutes. I walked in and there was...
NOBODY THERE!
It took exactly 30 seconds (give or take 10 or 20 seconds) from the time I walked in the door to the time I walked out. Literally. I'm not even kidding. I voted at 4:40pm. I walked in, found the lady with the S-Z book, it took a few seconds to find my name, I signed the book, she gave me a "Voter Ready" ticket and I turned around and gave it to the guy standing by the booths. There were three booths, two were empty. He pointed me to the middle one, I walked in and was instantly confused. "It can't be this easy... Is it really this easy?!" I looked at the ballot (an electronic push-button ballot with pretty green lights) and there was a button that said "Straight Democratic"... I was like "Holy shit! It really is this easy!!"
Yea, I voted straight Dems. I knew some of the names, but I haven't lived here long enough to really know who's doing what. But I'm hoping for a few extra seats in the house. Get us a filibuster proof majority. Call me what you want, I don't care. I voted!!
